Windows in the classroom

Using iPad’s to drive curriculum to create engaging content in a simple way

• How are you using the iPad’s to drive the curriculum to create an engaging, interactive and immersive learning experience for students?

Bringing learning to life literally!!  The session will include creating and editing movies, creating songs, scoring soundtracks for short movies, using augmentative reality to explore topics, making collages and comics in a simple way.

'Flipping the classroom'

• How are you 'flipping the classroom' and having pupils generate content to take control of their own learning paths?

Children learn better when they take control of their own learning path. 

• When was the last time you asked children to generate their own video content (home or in school) for a project?
• Is 'homework' set a week in advance, are children being asked to go away and research a topic to bring their own knowledge to the lesson so the teacher can address knowledge gaps in real time?

Eccleston Lane Ends have been using Espresso in the classroom for a number of years and will share their experiences of what works well and how it can be used to extend learning at home using the Life Cloud.  Margaret Baxter will demonstrate how the Espresso content can be used effectively and will give examples of how this has been used in their school.

Lyme Primary has recently invested in 32 iPad’s and has been embedding their use in the classrooms.  Learn how they have approached this, which Apps are currently in use to support learning in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 such as handwriting and counting.  They will share how they use the iPad interactively with the class and their plans to develop their usage of iPad’s with their students.
